Dance Bag: Moscow
In approximate rows, left to right and back to front
1. Ballet notebook and journal, where I record class notes, corrections, variation notations, etc.
2. Planner (official GWU merch), from academic year 2015-2016
3. Instant coffee (the Bolshoi cafeteria provides hot water and tea bags, but not really coffee)
4. Old flat shoes that I pancaked with cheap drugstore foundation for my Joffrey Summer NYC contemporary piece
5. Bag of pointe shoe padding (toe spacers, ouch pouches, lambswool I begged off of a girl when I showed up to an audition and did not have any padding, toe tape)
6. Fresh Russian Pointe shoes--Luminas.
7. Zefir ballet skirt
8. Clinique bag that holds makeup, contact lenses (because I am so blind), Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm, and normally the other small items in the picture
9. The plaid shirt I bought in Monterey last summer while doing a Summer Intensive Language Program for Arabic at MIIS and am now psycholgically dependent on
10. My dirty technique shoes that do not do my arches any favors
11. Russian pointes--Bravas. I love them.
12. Solmate socks that I bought in Arizona after I wore right through my first pair
13. Foam flip flops--cushion those feet after classes
14. Bloodstained Freed of London drawstring bag that normally holds all my shoes. My very first pair of pointe shoes came in this bag.
15. Character shoes that I may or may not have worn as my "black or brown formal shoes" for two years as part of my Catholic high school dress uniform.
16. Character skirt that my mother made for me when I did my first summer intensive at age 12. It still fits but I struggle with getting the waistband over my hips now.
